Effective, July 1, 2006, the European Union has mandated that certain categories of electrical and electronic equipment sold in the European Union must restrict the content of: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and poly-brominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

apt bearing and our suppliers have reviewed this directive (“restriction on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment-2002/95/EC”) commonly called RoHS. Although ball bearings do not directly fall under the RoHS directive, we have summarized the status of RoHS compliance efforts for products offered by apt bearing.

This list was established through careful review of our product offering that may be impacted by RoHS. By taking this action, apt bearing is providing a valuable service to our Customers, by making their compliance easier. Some customers require special non-standard lubricants which may not be compliant with RoHS/REACH directives. In these situations, the customer will be made aware and the non-compliant status will be clearly displayed on the product specification or drawing.
